Copyright and content removal
Most of what you see on HeavyEquipments.net was posted by the person selling the machine. Some listings were not: we compile a small number of them from public equipment groups on social media so that buyers searching for a particular model can find one. Every listing of that kind says so on the listing page itself, under the seller box, and carries a button marked “This listing is mine”.
If the machine is yours
You have two options, and you choose, not us:
- Take the listing over. It becomes your listing, the notice about social media disappears, and enquiries come to you instead of to us. You will need an account here, which takes a minute to open.
- Have it removed. We take it down. We do not ask you to justify the decision.
Use the “This listing is mine” button on the listing, or write to us at the address below with a link to the listing. We answer within two working days.
If you own a photograph or the text
Whoever took a photograph owns it. If one of yours appears here and you did not agree to it, tell us and we will remove it. There is no form to fight through, and you do not need a lawyer to ask.
So that we can act without a second exchange of letters, please include:
- the address of the page the material appears on, and enough description to identify which photograph or passage you mean;
- a description of the original work, or a link to where you first published it;
- your name, postal address, telephone number and e-mail address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent, or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the owner of the right or authorised to act for them;
- your signature, electronic or physical.
Those six points are what United States copyright law asks of a removal notice. We will act on a notice that is missing some of them; we may have to write back first.
What we do when a notice arrives
We remove the material and reply to tell you so. Complete notices are handled within two working days of reaching us, and usually the same day. Where a whole listing is affected, the listing comes down with it.
If you believe your material was removed in error, write to the same address and say so, and we will put the question to the person who asked for the removal.

Please put “Content removal” in the subject line. It is read by a person, not a filter.
Repeat infringement
An account used to post material belonging to other people is closed. That applies to members here in exactly the way it applies to us.
